Pre-Purchase

Before undertaking purchase of land or a development site it is strongly recommended that you undertake due diligence investigation to ensure that you are not going into it without knowledge of potential problems or extra costs. A geotechnical investigation consists of gathering information about the properties of the soil and rock makeup of the property that are used when designing foundations or any other structures. The information collected and recorded can assist with determining risks, opportunities and confidence in moving forward with a purchase.

Typically, we will undertake a desktop study combined with a site walkover and some borehole investigation for the assessment of on‐site conditions.

We can identify important issues for your consideration that will need to be taken into account for development at the site.

The work done at the due diligence study level can assist in making decisions regarding the site and will supplement subsequent work required at the detailed investigation stage.

Depending on the level of due diligence study undertaken information such as anticipated pavement designs, anticipated foundation types, likelihood of encountering rock / groundwater, potential site classification can be provided. Site Geotechnical have a detailed database having undertaken over 9,000 investigation projects across Victoria including some investigations within the largest subdivisions in the Melbourne growth areas.
